Therapy for Professionals in Chicago that Helps You Grow Beyond What Holds You Back
About My Approach
People often come to therapy because they want more than symptom relief. Many are thoughtful, reflective, and capable, yet feel stuck in patterns that limit connection, fulfillment, or a sense of meaning. Others may have tried therapy before and sensed that something important was left unexplored.
My approach to therapy is insight-oriented, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that meaningful change comes from understanding underlying emotional patterns and life experiences. Together, we work to explore how past and present experiences shape the way you relate to yourself, others, and the world, often in ways that operate outside of awareness.
I view therapy as a space for curiosity, honesty, and respect. The work unfolds at a pace that supports safety and depth, with the goal of helping you develop greater self-understanding, emotional flexibility, and a life that feels more aligned with your values.
My Training and Background
I am a licensed psychotherapist with a private practice in the Streeterville area of downtown Chicago, directly across the street from Northwestern Memorial Hospital. With more than twenty years of experience, I support adults who are navigating a wide range of emotional and psychological concerns.
My academic training began at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where I earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. After that, I completed advanced clinical training in psychodynamic theory and psychotherapy at the Institute for Clinical Social Work. This education strengthened my understanding of how early experiences and relationships shape emotional well-being.
Before opening my private practice, I spent several years developing my clinical skills in community mental health centers, hospice programs, hospitals, nursing homes, and residential group homes. Working in these challenging environments showed me how people cope with change, loss, and transition at different stages of life. Each setting offered valuable insight into the many ways humans adapt and grow.
Therapy: How It Supports Meaningful Change
Areas of Specialization
My clinical specialties include anxiety, stress management, grief and bereavement, spiritual transition and crisis, women’s issues, and major life transitions such as career changes, divorce, and entering or leaving the workforce. I focus on helping high-achieving adults understand the root causes of the patterns that hold them back. As a result, clients often begin to experience meaningful and long-lasting change.
Many of my clients seek therapy when they feel overwhelmed or burned out. Others want to understand long-standing patterns that affect their relationships or emotional well-being. Many people come to therapy because they feel overwhelmed or burned out. Others want to understand long-standing emotional patterns that impact their relationships and daily lives. During our work together, we will focus on identifying these patterns so you can move toward a more balanced and fulfilling life.
I have always been deeply interested in human behavior and the process of healing. For that reason, supporting clients as they build insight and strengthen their self-awareness feels incredibly meaningful to me. My goal is to help you develop clarity, resilience, and long-term emotional well-being.
